And Dave's interjection was far too direct for co-host to co-host.
His interjecion was important but he didn't give it the time that something that important needed to be given.
There is a "rush-rush" approach in play on The Sunday Shot. That needs to be ditched when it doesn't support critical functioning - and here Dave needlessly pinned his co-host as, at best, ignorant and thoughtless.

I watched some of the most recent #TheSundayShot 17 Aug 2025.
And I've got disconcerting memories of the attitudes of some contributors around taking action against Israel using sanctions etc.
To be clearer on what happened I'm going to need to watch it all. And take notes and names. And I'm not happy about what I fear I'll find.

The failures of internet connectivity between them all make viewing the show pretty unpleasant.
The failure to provide Australia with even quality late-20th century internet is on #TonyAbbott, #MalcolmTurnbull and their corrupt #LNP business-mates.
If this trash connectivity is normal on #Zoom etc then regular users have my commiserations.
For me, this Zoom-like format is currently too disjointed to watch for pleasure.

What great discussions with solid thinkers and analysts. Say what you will about the views (considered and backed up as their are by objective observations and analysis) expressed in #TheSundayShot but you cannot deny their superior quality.
Should be required viewing for all progressives and those sitting on the fences of politics (I’m no going to urge right-wingers to watch because they are immovable in their dogmas - mud dwellers).
I especially like to listen to #RichardDenniss of #AustralianInstitureDotOrg for his communication skills. He has a knack of pointing to the nub of every issue in a way that absolutely everyone can fully understand. Crystal clear explanations. Great use of analogies and a vibrant sarcastic streak. Love it!

Thanks John. It was a good segment. While there was no new information in what was presented, it all needed repeating because only through repetition will people start to get it and perhaps call for urgent intervention to right the wrongs (this is of course not limited the the issues being faced by the #TertiarySector ). There are a lot of issues vying for public attention, but it shouldn’t be beyond our capacity to look at them all and demand actions from those with the authority to act, stirr them awake to their responsibilities beyond mere electoral prospecting.

#TheSundayShot 10 minutes and 3 seconds on the pedal exerciser equalled 700 rotations and 1.4 km of comparative distance. So that’s 20 minutes on the thing today with a bung knee complicating the matter. I try to get 30 minutes daily but not with the knee in its current state.
