@moira I suspect the cliffhanger is not so much about the fact that it happened in-universe, but more the fact that they chose to incorporate it into the movie
Then again, this is a world where one radio announcement from a paramilitary nutcase is enough to immediately convince the whole country to turn on their Stuff so maybe it wasn't so inevitable after all

I don't get people seeing the underground Stuff trade as a cliffhanger, I mean, it's kind of the inevitable outcome of an addictive but deadly product like that. It is, dare I say it, more of a denouement? Something almost alien to the #monsterdon film but here we are?
