For #MurderEveryMonday this week's theme is "weather significantly affects the plot." My only entry almost has a spoiler on the cover. Book 11 of the excellent Lane Winslow series by Iona Whishaw it was not my favourite, but still got 4/5 from me at #TheStorygraph - none have gone below 4 and I gave book nine 5/5. The series does a great job blending mystery with social commentary, especially on issues relating to racism, indigenous peoples, and immigrants.

This week's #MurderEveryMonday seeks the longest (most elephantine?) title in one's crime library. My 'winner' is therefore very apt. Finding out it WAS the winner also reminded me that I gave it 4.25/5 at #TheStoryGraph and should therefore really try book 2, whose title is exactly the same length, it seems

I'm only 8% into #Reading it, but already the book in the attached photo is on track to be only my second 5-star read at #TheStoryGraph for 2026. It's proving to be so much MORE than a I expected - not just a #poetry anthology, but a defence of #Urdu a primer on the language and its poetic culture. AND it has a name that makes me smile every time I say it:
The Hindavi word humsafar means "companion" (on a journey). In the last 20+ years I've sung it more often than I could count in the line "ना तो humsafar की तलाश है" - "I'm not looking for a humsafar".It turns out, I was wrong. 😂

@cinderdazzle612 I don't keep a spreadsheet for my Dramas - that's from a database😂
Silly pedantic nitpicking aside, I built that database after being frustrated by the inadequacies of MDL's to learn something about how to build databases and because spreadsheets are not the best solution to every problem.
For my books, I use #TheStoryGraph - I've been a paying user since they went live back in September 2020 and the stats available to me there are way beyond anything I could cobble together.

I'm really enjoying how now my Kobo syncs with The StoryGraph, so my reading progress is automatically updated! It's a new feature which was released recently.

2026 is half done, and I've watched 66 Dramas - #cDrama, #jDrama, #kDrama and #twDrama It's time for a break from reading subtitles and get back to just #Reading

A huge benefit of using #storygraph is the stats! I was looking for a comfort read and a book I'm most likely to enjoy is the backlist of a favorite author. I was able to look through my most read authors by year and found some good suggestions! So far: Bean Counter manga book 4, KL Noone, Megan Derr and Jordan L Hawk. #bookstodon #thestorygraph #ilovestats
