"Touch Me" is a song by #theDoors from their 1969 album #TheSoftParade. Written by guitarist #RobbyKrieger in late 1968, it makes extensive use of brass and string instruments, including a solo by featured saxophonist #CurtisAmy. It was released as a single in December 1968 and reached No. 3 on the #Billboard #Hot100 (their last Top Ten hit in the US) and No. 1 in the #Cashbox #Top100 in early 1969 (the band's third American number-one single).

(P.S. @LikeItOrLumpIt - Give this one a listen. Not sure if you like The Doors, but I think this song is gorgeous. It was left off the album which I think was atrocious, especially with the 2 clunkers that made it ("Do It" and "Easy Ride"). But hey, I'm not an A&R man for Elektra in 1969. I guess.)

Who scared you?
Why were you born, my babe?In two-time's arms with all of your charms, my love
Why were you born, just to play with me
To freak out or to be beautiful, my dear?Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby
Load your head, blow it up, feeling good, baby (ah!)Well, my room is so cold, you know you don't have to go, my babe
And if you warm it up right, I'm gonna love you tonight, my loveWell, I'm glad that we came, I hope you're feeling the same
Who scared you and why were you born?
Please stayI see a rider coming down the road
Got a burden, carrying a heavy load
One sack of silver and one bag of gold(Thank you very much, gentlemen.)

Change of mood: #NowListening to #TheSoftParade by #TheDoors.
This, closely followed by #LAWoman, is my favourite of their albums. Viewed objectively, the swings in style shouldn’t work (e.g. Touch Me into Shaman Blues). However, the lush Phil Spector-type arrangements, the musicianship, & #JimMorrison in fine voice, is unique & irresistible.
This #AnalogueProductions reissue mastered at 45 by #DougSax has depth & detail, but thunders when needed.
