Quite a lot has been written and published in news outlets and by commentators and analysts about our political class’ efforts to keep the #NeoLiberalEconomy going despite its obvious failures and the ever growing #WealthInequity it engenders.
What I have not read or heard is any analysis of why our polies are so enomoured with the current #FinancialSystem that they are blind to the fact that they are just #pawns ,like the rest of us, in the hands of #TheRich and #ThePowerful, those who bathe in cash and equity (if only they could drown in it, I’d be at ease, alas…).
Polies have been “rewarded” (in remuneration and gifts) and temporarily handed over the semblance of “Power” (in control of legislative levers and drummed up electoral support) by the #MediaBarons (msm and social media) and those with more wealth than most nations of the South in the UN Assembly can lay claim to, towards just one end… to extract more wealth and power from everyone else, even those polies…
So why are polies so #Gullable? Is there a clinical issue here? What is the psychological condition they suffer from? Is there a cure? Are we all to sit back and take more of this shit? They’re such #Grifting hypocrites, because I refuse to believe that they do not know that #StateCapture is harmful to society.#Privatisation has never, in written history, benefited society and only leads to degradation of services and eventual parlous state requiring public bailouts… meanwhile #TheRich have sucked all the $$$ out of it in the process. This is a familiar merry-go-round, seen before, seeing it again, and unless things change we’ll see it again… the great golden goose that never fails to deliver to the top end of town.

I kind of agree with you, about the controling aspects of the #FossilFuelLobby. On the other hand, if not for fossil fuel, there would be other lobbies seeking #StateCapture. It is in the #moneyedClass interest to excert as much influence as money can buy after all. Remember the Tabacco Lobbies of yore? Same thing. Today we can also point to the #GamblingIndustry and increasingly #DefenceIndustries.Unfortunately, with power comes #Greed and #Corruption and #TheRich like it that way. All we can do is stay one step behind our #Leaders ensuring we don’t fall too far back. And the only way to do that is through the ballot box, consistent activism and community-led campaigns (including petitions, protest sit-ins/marches and boycotts, etc.).
I’m hopeful that consistent messaging by communities eventually cuts through to polies and that our govt (of whatever ilk) will eventually push back against #Zionism and its growing influence in everyday Australian social life because it is so egregious atm.
Also more peeps ought to have a good long think about it all and take a moral and ethical stand vis a vis #Gaza, #WestBank #Lebanon, etc. not much help if peeps keep watching #FoxFakeNews and similar #Cronies IMO.
In the grand scheme of things, we need to break up #Oligarchies , #Oligopolies and get serious about progressive #TaxReform.

Had a #dream in which #theRich were in fantastic machines, automobiles of all kinds. They were asleep, crashing into everything. Homes, businesses, each other, and people, all crushed in their careless rolling around. Sometimes, even one of them was sacrificed to the accidents playing out, but mostly it was everyday people walking around being ground up by crashing vehicles, all while the drivers slept.
It is time to wake them up and tear them out of their machinery.

"Currently, roughly 5.3 million borrowers are in default on their federal student loans.
"The Trump administration ’s announcement marks an end to a period of leniency that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. No federal student loans have been referred for collection since March 2020, including those in default. Under President Joe Biden, the Education Department tried multiple times to give broad forgiveness of student loans, only to be stopped by courts.
" 'American taxpayers will no longer be forced to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies,' #EducationSecretary #LindaMcMahon said.
"Beginning May 5, the department will begin involuntary collection through the Treasury Department’s offset program, which withholds government payments — including tax refunds, federal salaries and other benefits — from people with past-due debts to the government. After a 30-day notice, the department also will begin garnishing wages for borrowers in default.
"The decision to send debt to collections drew criticism from advocates, who said borrowers had experienced whiplash and confusion with the changing student loan policies between the Biden and Trump administrations."
