李卫公却把他的数学成就写进了大唐朝的历书，当然，用了一套极复杂的术语。比方说，说有一个变量x时就说是皇上、圣上等等；再有一个变量y，就说母后、皇后；万岁是平方，万万岁是立方，万寿无疆是常数。故而一个x的多项式——2倍的x平方加x立方加一个常数项就可以表达为“皇上万岁万岁万万岁万寿无疆”。假如这个多项式等于另一个变量y，就写作“皇后、皇上万岁万岁万万岁万寿无疆”。
