New #StandingOnTheCorner album dropped today - it hits like #SlyStone raging with #TheResidents at the end of the world. Cameos from #Solange, #DannyBrown, and #DigablePlanets' LadyBug Mecca add texture and relevance, but it's a quiet monologue by 92 year old #BlackArtsMovement member #SoniaSanchez that really roots this one. Recommended to those with wide ears.

Barking in the Dark

G-Nitro’s Daily Music Wrap-Up – 9/28/25

I listen to one of the worst albums of all time by The Residents, and check out the latest releases from Mariah Carey, and BIBI.

Favorite Videos include a Gia Fu salsa set, Yellow Pato on blackboard, and more!

Avoid the news. Be unemployed. Maybe look for a job - but making it out of the house, or even taking a shower feels like too much work.
Better stay inside, play #nomanssky and listen to #TheResidents.
Much better.

The Residents' debut is surprisingly good. I was expecting incomprehensible noise and it's nothing like that. Solid stuff.

One thing that I find charming about The Residents is that due to their process is not easy, if possible at all, to figure out which year each album was released on because they don't follow any fads.

#TheResidents

I read about The Residents for the first time in April's issue of "XL," a forgotten now Polish music magazine, and judging by what I read, I simply assumed it was an April Fool's joke. Mind you, this was still back in 1990s. Now imagine how surprised I was when I stumbled upon an hour-long episode about the group on Viva Zwei. Full of videoclips and all.
