We finished out #TheQuietYear yesterday. Children successfully overthrew the adults and made them work in the mines. There was a point at which we had only scarcities and two abundances. Players finally engaged the big things we established at the beginning - black monolith and ant-infested crater.
We established the end was that scout ship came from space and found no eligible colony here (everything underground) so terraformation efforts stopped and world is considered uninhabited.

It was a lot of fun. Like a lot. We chose to make it about Mars-like planet settlement during terraformation. I was worried (I worry too much) of conflicting visions but we actually did really well. Emergent story of children yearning for the mines and then constructing exploding spears to hunt Dune-like sandworms was awesome.

@vdonnut I guess I would say: no game is perfect, but #TheQuietYear is consistently recommended as really good at what it does by a wide range of people so if you're just concerned with whether it's a good game to bring to your group: yes, it is. If it sounds like a theme you're interested in, give it a go!
