Maybe if TPS stopped over-charging people for the sake of putting out a press release that makes it seem like they did something meaningful, those charges would stop being thrown out.

    Nah.
    They're all about the theatre.

  2. When a complete asshat is now a political prisoner and the court system is determined to make you have to comment on their obvious bullshit.
    Ugh.

    "Clerical error" my ass.

  3. What do you do when the usually pliant Supreme Court suspends the use of a colonial-era sedition law that has seen a 160% increase in 2016 - 2019 [1] and beyond to stifle any public discourse critical of the government, its ministers, increased religiosity and failure to address critical issues like climate change and unemployment, throwing mainly young people in jail without trial, knowing that the judicial system is severely backlogged and it might take years/decades before the case is heard? #TheProcessIsThePunishment

If you're the Indian government, you just revoke the law which criminalised sedition, and introduce a new criminal law (with a name in Hindi, which is illegal as per the Constitution [2]) that, among other shenanigans, not only brings back sedition as a crime in all but name, but also expands its scope to include vague and undefined terms like β€œexcites or attempts to excite secession or subversive activities", β€œencourages feelings of separatist activities", and "endangers the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India" [3]

Welcome to the mother of democracy, as Dear Leader calls it. This law goes into effect 1 Jul 2024.

In cases like these, #TheProcessIsThePunishment: Microsoft's dirty laundry was aired far and wide, its swaggering founder was brought low, and the company's conduct changed for *years* afterwards. Gates once told #KaraSwisher that Microsoft missed its chance to buy #Android because they were "distracted by the antitrust trial." But the Android acquisition came *four years* after the antitrust case ended.
