Some games just baffle me with how good their reviews are compared to my experience playing them.
Just refunded #ThePlanetCrafter ('overwhelmingly positive') because starting the game collecting resources in the shape of randomly generated strewn around rocks is really not my idea of a fun survival crafting game.
Iron? Pick a rock on the floor. Silicon? Pick a rock on the floor. Cobalt? Pick a rock on the floor. Water? You guessed it, ice rock on the floor.
They're not even in different places or anything. They're just all the same size, distributed randomly on the floor of the empty map for you to click A on.
Whyyy.
And then you start building, which is the same generic "1st person, set down a magic floating cube module blueprint with your holo construction gun" thing we've been tired of since 2015 (see: No Man's Sky, Subnautica, Astroneer, Solarpunk, Satisfactory...). And of course they're just white featureless floating cubes with a generic 'sci-fi' looking design.
Tiny inventory. Multi-tool that looks like a gun. First person with way too low an FOV. Shitty story about being stranded on an alien planet at the behest of some corporate overlord with a mission to exploit its local resources.
I feel like I've played the same game fifty times now and I've enjoyed zero of them.

Tried out #ThePlanetCrafter which came out on #XboxGamePass this week, and really enjoyed it
It looks, feels, and plays a lot like “No Man’s Sky” in the spirit of “Surviving Mars”, focused entirely on the task of surviving while exploring and terraforming a barren world.

Das war es jetzt also. Ich verlasse das System und lasse 4 vollkommen transformierte Welten hinter mir. Ich vertraue mich dem Portal der Wächter an, welches mich zu einem unbekannten Ort und Schicksal führen wird...
Hiermit stempel ich nach 160 Stunden Spielzeit #ThePlanetCrafter plus Addon als #durchgespielt. Es war mir eine helle Freude, in diesen Indie-Game meine Zeit zu verbringen! 🥰

Bon par contre c'est un peu long quand même pour certains truc basique comme les murs et escaliers intérieur, puis ça manque d'automatisation quand même :pikaneutral:

Nach Prime habe ich nun auch den Mond Selenea erfolgreich terraformt. 🤩 Cthulhu sei dank konnte ich viele der auf Prime erforschten Technologien und Gerätschaften direkt einsetzen, was den Terraformprozess enorm beschleunigt hat.

Endlich die Keksproduktion automatisiert. Im Stockwerk drüber stehen die Gerätschaften, die automatisch Kakao, Mehl und Kekse produzieren. Die Drohnen sortieren es ein. So großartig, wie #ThePlanetCrafter immer wieder Sachen erleichtert, die anfangen, zuviel Arbeit zu machen.

Meine zentrale Basis bei #ThePlanetCrafter nimmt mehr Raum ein. Neben der Startrampe ist jetzt auch genug Platz vorhanden, um weitere Gerätschaften aufzubauen. Die Terraform-Stufe steht kurz vor der Pflanzen-Phase. 🙂

So langsam wird es auf dem Planeten heimeliger. Aktuell bin ich auf dem halben Weg, die Moos-Ära freizuschalten. Dann wird es hoffentlich auch jenseits der Basis grüner und lebendiger. 😊
Meine Basis habe ich zum sich neu gebildeten See verlegt. Oben an der Klippe wurde es vom Platzbedarf her etwas zu knapp. 😉

Ich habe im Urlaub mit #ThePlanetCrafter angefangen und ja, es gefällt. 🙂 Es ist bei weiten nicht so komplex wie #Satisfactory, aber durch den Terraforming Gameloop ähnlich befriedigend.
Im Screenshot hab ich den ersten, großen Schritt geschafft. Die Atmosphäre ist dicht genug, dass sich der Himmel blau gefärbt hat.🤤
