  1. Amazon has cancelled so many great sci fi/fantasy series that I've enjoyed. It makes me crazy!

Some examples, in no particular order:
    Outer Range
Night Sky - So unjust! This was such a good show!
    The Peripheral
    The Wheel of Time
    Homecoming
    Paper Girls
    The Power

  9. Hot take incoming:

Amazon’s decision to not renew #ThePeripheral will ultimately be seen as a bigger blunder than Fox’s decision to not renew #Firefly.

Just did a rewatch. What a fantastic show, and a wonderful adaptation of the #WilliamGibson novel.

Such a shame that the world only got this one season of Chloë Grace Moretz’s portrayal of Flynne Fisher.

  13. “And first of all that it was no one thing. That it was multicausal, with no particular beginning and no end. More a climate than an event, so not the way apocalypse stories liked to have a big event, after which everybody ran around with guns […] or else were eaten alive by something caused by the big event. Not like that.

It was androgenic, he [post-jackpot] said, and she [pre-jackpot] knew from Ciencia Loca and National Geographic that that meant because of people.

Not that they’d known what they were doing, had meant to make problems, but they’d caused it anyway. And in fact the actual climate, the weather, caused by there being too much carbon, had been the driver for a lot of other things. How that got worse and never better, and was just expected to, ongoing.

Because people in the past, clueless as to how that worked, had fucked it all up, then not been able to get it together to do anything about it, even after they knew, and now it was too late.” — William Gibson

  20. In what world can someone cancel "The Peripheral" at the end of season 1, and someone else make 3 seasons of "Invasion"?

I'm still watching it, but surely no one knows what's going on...

Canceling that show was an absolute bonehead move by Amazon. It was soooo good.
