The unrest in #Iran is more than anger about the economic free fall in that benighted country. It’s been simmering for decades, as well-educated Iranians have grown sick of the shackles placed on them by the mullahs and their #Islamist regime.
May 2006 be the year of their liberation. And may the US and Israel—despite their corrupt, incompetent, and reactionary administrations—not fuck this up. A #democratic (or at least, non- #theocratic) government in Iran is a world-changer, if the west supports its establishment and preempts alliances with Russia and/or China.
