CW: spoilers The North movie
Saw a movie.
Dutch realism?
Most of the movie had two men walking in front of slightly unfocused, high glens & lochs & sleeping in a big tent in the manner of sharing an office desk.
Pretty much anti-drama, though they opened up for a few minutes late late late in the movie.
And the camera work succeeded in being anti-scenery too almost completely.So why is it worth seeing?
For the reasons above.
It's anti-spectacle.It's my life if I don't reach out.

De Nederlandse arthousefilm The North heeft de Gouden Film-status behaald. De film over twee vrienden die een wandeltocht door de Schotse Hooglanden afleggen heeft 100.000 bezoekers getrokken in de Nederlandse bioscopen. De makers kregen woensdag daarom de prijs overhandigd in natuurgebied de Soesterduinen.

De wandelfilm The North heeft in twee weken tijd meer dan 50.000 bezoekers getrokken. Dat heeft distributeur Gusto Entertainment zaterdag gemeld. Daarmee is het de best bezochte Nederlandse arthousefilm van 2025. Deze titel stond op naam van de film Alpha, die in totaal 28.000 bezoekers trok.
