As far back as 1975 corporate insiders were aware of potential risks. They called #paraquat’s long-term effects "a quite terrible problem” (Nov 11, 1975 ltr to #Chevron Environmental Health, Standard Oil of California).
Over 70 countries banned paraquat; it remains legal in US. #EnvironmentalProtectionAgency banned use on #golf courses but allows on crops.
Most US paraquat comes from China & UK—both banned paraquat’s use in their countries.
