"Never Ending Story" is the title song from the English version of the 1984 film #TheNeverEndingStory. It was produced and composed by Italian musician #GiorgioMoroder and performed by English pop singer #Limahl. He released two versions of the song: one in English and one in French. The English version features vocals by #BethAndersen, and the French version, titled "L'Histoire sans fin", featured vocals by Ann Calvert. It was a success in many countries.

For my birthday I got a colour e-reader (Kobo Libra Colour). The obvious 1st book to read was The Neverending Story with its two colour text, red for our world green for Fantastica. But there don’t seem to be any ebooks recreating those original editions, they just use italic text. And all the illustrations are awful quality black and white.
Challenge accepted.
I’ve edited the text to be multi colour, and scanned illustrations from my old paper copy!

Despite plans to make a sequel that would use the second half of the book, “The Neverending Story 2” was mired in legal, funding and production troubles that would last the rest of the 1980s. All of the child actors had to be recast due to aging and the adults were recast due to them having long since moved on from the production- with the exception of Thomas Hill, who plays Koreander the bookkeeper in all 3 films.

Despite some drama over the screenplay (the author claims it was rewritten by the studio, etc) & costing about $28 million USD to make. It did well at both the box office & w/critics which is why a second film was put into production. We’ll be watching that film next week

Originally, they did plan to have Atreyu be green as he is in the book (described as a “green skinned warrior”) but apparently it was pretty “ meh” in practice when they actually painted Noah Hataway so the idea
was scrapped

Atreyu is played by former actor Noah Hathaway who mostly worked in science fiction and fantasy tv & films like the original “Battlestar Galactica”, this, “Troll” etc. I think now he mostly does tattoo art & such
