Fred Gwynne, a.k.a. Herman Munster, was born 100 years ago today.

I've been a fan since the 1960s, when The Munsters used to follow Doctor Who on BBC1 (though I had to sit through The Dick Van Dyke Show in between). I particularly remember watching Herman and family after The Tomb of the Cybermen back in September 1967.

Later this year, the film Munster, Go Home! celebrates its 60th anniversary, so I think I'll kill two mockingbirds with one stone and watch it today in tribute.
