Now we’re cookin’ with gas, baby!!!

I have a great sentimental love for The Monkees. The show was on every day in syndication after school when I was a kid, and I used to watch it all the time.

This is a GREAT collection, part of Rhino’s Start Your Ear Off Right (SYEOR) series.
Everything you could ever want from them is here, including one of my favorite songs of all time, “Porpoise Song”.

If you can’t appreciate The Monkees, then you’re just a twat.
    Great songs, man.

Jimi Hendrix Opens for The Monkees on a 1967 Tour; Then Flips Off the Crowd and Quits
It’s easy to dismiss The Monkees. Critics and listeners have been doing it since the sixties, although the band has also come in for its share of reappraisals, particularly for their psych-rock album Head.

  9. Good morning. 🌊🐚🦐

    23 May 2024

This is the way we start our day, early in the morning. ☕

"I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
    That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
    I'm in love
    I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried" - Niel Diamond

Did you know that Neil Diamon wrote I'm a believer performed by The Monkees? I didn't until now. When I was a youngster, I watched their children's show. Sadly, only Micky Dolenz is still living.

When you don't see someone for over 50 years, you halfway expect them to look like you remember, they don't.

"Never hold discussions with the monkey when the organ grinder is in the room." - Winston Churchill
