My favorite LGBTQ+ character is Katie from the film "The Mitchells vs. the Machines". I relate to Katie because I feel a bit quirky, eccentric, and creative, though socially awkward. I’m interested in and obsessed with cinema and filmmaking. While she started creating cinema at an early age, I didn’t start animating until 2021.

Reseñando cine: The Mitchell vs. The Machines (2021) de Mike Rianda y los guionistas Christopher Miller y Phil Lord (conocidos por ser productores creativos de La Película LEGO y Spiderverse) es una película de acción y comedia que abarca las aventuras de Katie Mitchell y su familia, que tras un conflicto, deciden acompañarla en su viaje a la academia de cine, un viaje interrumpido por la invasión de numerosos robots a mitad de camino.
Lo mejor de la trama es, por lejos, el conflicto inicial entre Katie y su padre anti-tecnología, ya que muestra a la perfección las diferencias generacionales en el pensamiento de ambos, y también, las escenas de viaje son otras que se roban la película, aparte de las de Aaron, hermano menor de Katie, y su perrito pug.
El resto me pareció divertido aunque predecible, no me gustó el hecho de que la villana fuera un robot-celular ya que el cómo terminaría su batalla se veía venir a lo lejos y la cinta peca de tener numerosas referencias a memes de internet, como los brainrot de perros, gatos y monos rotando en la nada (elijo creer que esta cinta se adelantó al fenómeno del brainrot xD)
En otras palabras, es una peli pochoclera para reírse durante una hora, que tiene algunos elementos de memes que con el tiempo pueden mal envejecer. Para mí, esta es la peli más regular del dueto Lord-Miller junto a la de Lluvia de Hamburguesas, porque de ellos dos me encantaron la de LEGO y las de Spiderverse. Además, el final de esta peli es bastante cerrado, así que creo que no es necesario que deba tener una secuela.
PD: Ver esta peli me hizo replantear la calificación inicial que le di a Kpop Demon Hunters, que me resultó mucho más emotiva que The Mitchell. #cine #cinemastodon #TheMitchellsvsTheMachines #SonyPictures

It's a really fun and cute movie, I liked it.
The mix of all the different art and animation styles is wild but cool.
People like Katie are awesome, and her brother is a silly little cutie and I wanna pat his head and gift him dinosaur toys. 😁
Really, a nice movie, although the theme hits close at home as usual, see next Content warned Toot, if you want.
But yeah, I recommend the movie! 😊

Just watched "The Mitchells vs The Machines", a film I for some reason - even with that title - thought was just some animated "Vacation"-film. But it had ROBOTS in it!
It also connected with me WAY more than I expected. It was almost too personal for me. PLUS ROBOTS!

For #pridemonth we're celebrating #LGBTQ :flagProgress: #animation and this week, it's #film.
It took almost ten years after yesterday's film, ParaNorman, but The Mitchells vs. The Machines was the first animated film to feature an LGBTQ character as the lead. What sets the film apart though, is that Katie's weirdness is sensitively shown as stemming from something other than her queerness; a realistic subversion of how such characters are normally portrayed.

Oscars rarely note the animated films I'm all about so it's awesome to see #TheMitchellsVsTheMachines nominated for an Oscar but I am way more excited about the Annie noms of Pompo the Cinephile and Belle (and The Mitchells OBVIOUSLY)

The only thing I didn't really like? Satarising technology and Silicon Valley in particular is a bit passé even for animated films. The result is that I found that aspect of the film less true criticism and more a source of humour. Which is a bit disappointing because the trope is crying out for a fresh twist.
Overall though, it's a great film that I enjoyed a LOT more than I expected.

I watched The Mitchells Vs. The Machines last night and it was quite enjoyable. I have a bit of a soft spot for Sony Animation flicks and this is no exception.
The humour is, I would say, contemporary and trendy, but the score was great and TRON's influence continues unabated.
I liked all the characters and Katie makes for a good protagonist with a true realistic streak.
