Late to the game, but just started #TheMidnightClub. The last #MikeFlanagan series I haven't yet watched (I LOVED the first episode). Can't wait to see what he does with #TheDarkTower. Anyone else?

@thisismissem I loved #TheMidnightClub so much

Just in case you weren't aware, the creators dumped spoilers for season 2 on Tumblr when they found out it was cancelled

Worth a quick read in my opinion, makes for good closure ;(

“Heaven and Hell. The world's such a colourful place, why make the end so black and white?” #TheMidnightClub

J’ai bien aimé The Midnight Club, une série malheureusement abandonnée par Netflix après une seule saison. J’explique pourquoi et je m’agace aussi contre une critique que je trouve toujours plus absurde sur les séries écrites par des algorithmes.

I enjoyed #TheMidnightClub. Sad to see it’s cancelled.

Finished #wednesday today and I love everything about the show. The vibe, the characters, the sets and overall Jenna Ortega 🤩 Really wanna see more in the future. Same small scale and little stories. That’s all I need.
Was so hyped for #themidnightclub by my man Mike Flanagan, but the premise, with all the terminally ill kids was just too much for me, so I am glad that Wednesday came out of the blue and was that for me, what I hoped Midnight Club would be #netflix #WednesdayNetflix

Netflix isn't renewing #TheMidnightClub for Season 2, despite the positive reviews. So that sucks.

But #MikeFlanagan wrote a blog to clear up any mysteries left over from Season 1, and to let us know what was going to happen to the main characters in Season 2.

And it sounds like it could have been amazing:

A big thank you for that! 👌

Since director Mike Flanagan will no longer work with Netflix, we will not get a 2. season of #TheMidnightClub. But since Flanagan is a cool guy and above all not cruel, he sat down and published his very detailed plans for season 2 on Tumblr - including all twists and turns. 😅 🤯

What season 2 would have been if Netflix hadn’t cancelled #TheMidnightClub. Gutted about this, but also, thank you #MikeFlanagan for answering these questions and giving fans a glimpse.

This is a huge bummer. Maybe Netflix canceling another show isn't so surprising these days, but The Midnight Club was really unique in the way it explored really dark themes and it's still sad to see it canceled before they get to finish the story.

At least Mike Flanagan kept his promise of making a tumblr post revealing where they planned to take things if the show didn't get a 2nd season:

I am heart broken that there will be no season two of The Midnight Club and so Remember Me will not be made. It was my favorite.

2022 Horror in Review

Full disclosure: I did not get to everything. There is just so much horror out there! But I’ll say that this was a great year for spooky stuff, with high-budget adaptions and original series plus remakes that hold up.

I've been watching #TheMidnightClub and I'm quite liking it tbh

Definitely not as strong as previous Mike Flanagan stuff (and clearly targeted at a younger audience), but very enjoyable nonetheless
