The song was written by #DavidCrane, #MartaKauffman and #AlleeWillis as the main #themeSong to the #NBC sitcom #Friends, which was broadcast from 1994 to 2004. American #rock band #REM was originally asked to allow their song "Shiny Happy People" to be used for the Friends theme, but they turned the opportunity down. "I'll Be There for You" was subsequently written.

"Theme from Shaft", written and recorded by #IsaacHayes in 1971, is the #soul and #funk-styled #themeSong to the #MetroGoldwynMayer film Shaft. The theme was released as a single (shortened and edited from the longer album version) two months after the #moviesSoundtrack by #StaxRecords' Enterprise label. "#ThemeFromShaft" went to no. 2 on the Billboard Soul Singles chart (behind "#InnerCityBluesMakeMeWannaHoller" by #MarvinGaye).

This is an oldie but goodie, where Reggie Watts creates the Comedy Bang Bang theme, the best theme song, probably of all time, with the possible exception of It's Garry Shandling's Show theme song.
