"Theme from Shaft", written and recorded by #IsaacHayes in 1971, is the #soul and #funk-styled #themeSong to the #MetroGoldwynMayer film Shaft. The theme was released as a single (shortened and edited from the longer album version) two months after the #moviesSoundtrack by #StaxRecords' Enterprise label. "#ThemeFromShaft" went to no. 2 on the Billboard Soul Singles chart (behind "#InnerCityBluesMakeMeWannaHoller" by #MarvinGaye).

"Beauty and the Beast" is a song written by lyricist #HowardAshman and composer #AlanMenken for the #Disney animated feature film #BeautyAndTheBeast (1991). The film's #themeSong, the #Broadway-inspired #ballad was first recorded by British-American actress #AngelaLansbury in her role as the voice of the character #MrsPotts, and essentially describes the relationship between its two main characters #Belle and the Beast.
