Wow, this was really the longest adventure game I had played until then. The Longest Journey, so interesting and mysterious and having April Ryan journeying between worlds... #adventure #games #thelongestjourney #history
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played 💙
And last chapter of The Longest Journey finished! I expected a good classic, but I never expected it to be this GREAT. And long. And ambitious! Excellent story all around, and it isn't scared of putting you through looooong dialogues sometimes. But the writing and acting really deliver, it's pretty great.
I found it much less awesome on the puzzle part and the music was too discreet, but otherwise a real adventure gem.

We're going to play a few more hours of The Longest, the Longest Journey at 1900 BST this evening.

When I started this game, my knees still worked.
We're going to stream 2, yes 2 hours of our belated the Longest Journey Stream at 1900 BST this evening.
I've no idea where we're up to anymore, so it's going to really be The Longest, Longest Journey.
I'm hoping the save files haven't degraded since our last play...
I started to play #TheLongestJourney It is super old, but the dialogues are great and the voice actors as well. I was interested in it back then but after many years I did not thought that I will get back to it.
We are back playing The Longest Journey from 2010 BST, where we try and stay on the path. Maybe. Who knows? The game sure as hell didn't last time.
It has taken me forever, but I've finally sorted OBS.
We're going to try and play an hour of The Longest Journey starting NOW. Basically NOW.
You have no chance to survive make your time.
This is not a drill.
We're going live with The Longest Journey.
Now.
NOW.
No, you don't have time to get dinner.
You can go and get a drink.
We're going online at 20:00 GMT (yep, short notice), playing more The Longest Journey.
What does a DFS sofa have to do with it? Absolutely nothing.
The world is on fire. Come and get drunk with me on a balcony while we slip between worlds playing The Longest Journey. We start at 2015 GMT.
We're back playing more The Longest Journey at 2015 GMT this evening.

I don't care how long I squint at this, I still don't see a sailboat.
We're going to play more "The Longest Journey" at 2000 GMT. With any luck, the washing machine has finished by then. I SAID WITH ANY LUCK, THE WASHING MACHINE HAS FINISHED BY THEN.
We're streaming tonight at 2000 GMT.

Going to go and get the good ending for Planetfall on the Atari ST, and then switch to The Longest Journey on PC.
Yep, I know. A practically modern game. I like this one though. And it works on ScummVM.
@bloodaxe I’m also (re)playing the Norwegian version of The Longest Journey (using #ScummVM). I strongly recommend getting the HD graphics mod: https://tljhd.github.io/
It makes the game much more enjoyable. If you’re using a non-English version, I recommend just getting the main mod, not the FMV mod (which replaces all videos with *English* HD versions). The quality of the original videos are OK, so you don’t lose much by not replacing them with HD versions.
I just wanted to make a post of gratitude and #Appreciation to the makers and maintainers of #Wine and #Lutris. Thanks to you, not only are almost all of my games playable on #Linux, but many of my older games are also accessible to me on my modern hardware 😃 Currently started playing The Longest Journey (Den Lengste Reisen) today, with Norwegian dialogue and voice acting from the oooold OG discs sold here in Norway.

#Summary for September 2024 https://no-pe.netlify.app/2024-09-summary/
– The Longest Journey is very charming;
– Tchia is an indie Breath of the Wild/The Wind Waker hybrid;
– Caravan SandWitch and Mika and the Witch’s Mountain are good and political, questionmark;
– The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom… come on, you know it’s great!
And some slight redesign, just for funzies.

I didn't have time today, since it was my mom's birthday, but the rest of the week I've been playing a lot of #Dustborn.
It's an #action-y #AdventureGame by #RedThreadGames (see: #TheLongestJourney, #DreamfallTheLongestJourney, #DreamfallChapters) and has a diverse cast of interesting characters with voice-based powers in a somewhat post-apocalyptic (and fascist) America.
It's also being heavily brigaded by GamerGate types who gleefully spread disinformation about the game.

As far as I can tell, every character of color is voiced by an actor of color. That’s rare even today, and we’re talking about a game from 1999. Even the sequels didn’t do that.
I wouldn’t say #TheLongestJourney deserves a remaster, but only because I think it still looks and plays good when run in #ScummVM.
Maybe I should give #TheSecretWorld another try…

I hate adventure games with a passion. And I do *hate* them because a lot of them have very interesting settings, stories, etc. But those “moon logic” puzzles… Pants! (I’m trying a new exclamation, how’s that?) Maybe I’ll give #TheLongestJourney a chance. Maybe as a laptop-in-bed game. Maybe with a walkthrough.
At least I know it’s easy to run it with Roberta on #Steam: #ProtonUpQt installs it, then you need #ScummVM (and `inotify-tools` for me).
GOG'da bu eski oyuna CAYNE'ye rastladım, Bedavaydı!
Yıllar önce oynadığım The Longest Journey'e benzettim. Elbette herkes kendi oynayıp bildiği oyuna benzetir. ツ
Bedavaya satın aldım!
Böyle oyunları severim.

I freaked out watching the news showing Apple Vision Pro owners wandering in the streets. This was exactly what the WatiCorp dreamers looked like in #Dreamfall #DreamfallChapters #TheLongestJourney . Scary.

#TheLongestJourney is my favorite #PointAndClick #AdventureGame hands down. It has 24 years old and was created in #Norway Request: a remaster and release on all platforms with beautiful physical editions for #NintendoSwitch #Xbox and #PS5 This reminded me that I may still have both the 4CD and 2CD physical releases for #PC at my parents house :blobcatgiggle: The #GOG file comes also with gorgeous #ConceptArt manual, avatars, guide, wallpapers and soundtrack.
#Funcom vær så snill!

I did a #topsters chart for the #AdventureGames I've played in the last 20 years at different times and with different levels of enjoyment. #TheLongestJourney was my favorite, hands down. #BrokenSword was my go-to for mystery/art. #Agon Lost Sword of Toledo was good for the story and southern European setting, I Have no Mouth was the most shocking, #Sanitarium was a mindfuck and the others, classic and new, I'd recommend anyway. #Gaming #Videogames #PCgaming #Playstation3
Remember Funcom's 'The Longest Journey'?
It was a point-and-click masterpiece that was ahead of its time. Not so much in the gameplay, which was typical of the adventure game genre, but in its lengthy dialogue and strong voice acting, which upped the ante on what PC gamers could expect from narrative games.
If you missed in the early 2000s, give it a look - it's a classic!

After playing Dreamfall: The Longest Journey the other night I got to thinking about playing the original before getting any further.

Finished playing Dreamfall: The Longest Journey yesterday.
What a ride, epic story telling! Spent 22 hours on it: compare that with reading a long novel or about 3 seasons worth of a series.
The ending was and is something to chew on. Certainly not the typical happy ending for a game (protagonist). Wondering how they'll tie up the ends in Dreamfall Chapters.
