  1. I have not used my #functionalprogramming brain muscle for a while. Yesterday and today tried writing a #Levenshtein string distance function in GNU #guile . Looked up the naive version on wiki. That came easy. But then I decided, that I wanted an FP solution, but with caching/memoization ... I knew from past experience, that I would probably have to use continuations for that. #TheLittleSchemer strikes again.

  2. Just been thinking about a function that employs the tenth commandment from The Little Schemer: "Build functions to collect more than one value at
a time.". Found a catchy phrase for it: "Wrap it till you make it."

  3. Just read chapter 9 of #TheLittleSchemer. The authors think if I read it one more time I'll understand it. But I feel like I'll be going over it again and again and again...

Still, I've been writing odd bits of #guile #scheme for a few years in guix configs, makefiles, xbindkeysrc... Probably about time I actually tried to understand it.
