Forgot to post this yesterday but I have finally finished (100% complete with Platinum Trophy) #TheLegendOfDragoon on the #Playstation5.
It was such a nostalgic playthrough of one of my favorite JRPGs. Having said that there are a few things I realize now that I played this as an adult (a thread):

So, initial thoughts on #TheLegendOfDragoon on PS4 (eventual review will happen):
The opening FMV looks great for most of it with default graphics. A little artifacting, but par for the course on PS1.
Battle intros seem to be fully preserved, but there's some mild stuttering. After Chrono Cross, this doesn't surprise me because...
Like Chrono Cross, this is very much the PS1 graphics engine, but on the PS1 pixel grid instead of a newer one with higher resolution. As such, there's a lot of bizarre warping at the expanded visual resolution that a CRT would have hidden.
There is a CRT filter and while it's far from visually accurate, it does look fantastic. I will probably play with that.
The models are also gorgeous and may have been touched up, or at least the important ones.
The backgrounds are untouched.
You can also choose between US and PAL regions. I have no idea what the difference is, but I'm guessing it's not Dabas' Underground Adventure like I was hoping to find Japanese in there for.

Can I really just say that it's super crappy of Sony to hold back #TheLegendOfDragoon until tomorrow after the holiday? Not that I played the PS1 version at all today or did anything remotely constructive given I feel "blah" from a mild head cold, but IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.
