Have started “#FoolMeOnce” on #Netflix and am enjoying the clear detailed 4K video. Realized that there is absolutely no #filmgrain in it, either that or my subtle denoise setting removes it completely. Which got me thinking, why does film grain even exist? What does it possibly add to movies/tv shows? Eg “#TheKilling” - horrible grain which is IMO very distracting, unnecessary and adds absolutely nothing positive to the watching experience.
