Tonight's viewing: my first revisit to the late Tony Scott's 80s vamp flick, The Hunger, which I haven't seen in years. Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie looking simply gorgeous, that Bauhaus opening scene as they hunt in a club.

Short: #Suspiria: art over production value.

1. Pandora's Box: I am glad no one picked this. It is a true classic and my fav. film of all time.
2. Suspiria: This is the correct answer. Dario Argento was part of the low-budget Italian movie wave of the 70s. Art is emphasized over plot and production value. I love all these #giallo, or "yellow," films that handle death, murder, and horror with style.
3. #Haunted (1993) is Hollywood glitz. I so wanted to run off with the ghost Beckinsale plays. Almost makes damnation worthwhile.
4. #TheHunger: Back to a film with higher art value than production value, but miles better than your typical giallo. It even makes sense, which I am not sure Suspiria does. Plus, I love Deneuve. I also listed "The Last Metro"

I looked over, taking in the speaker. Crude like his clothes: expensive, tasteless, like a gold-plated oil donkey gushing crude.

“I thik I’d too many.” I slurred, then looked at him. “Gin fizzy.” (Giggle.) “Lime twist,” and pushed my empty glass across the bar.

“You’ll hav’ta excuse me, powder woom.”

Pushing through the crowd, I stopped in front of the restroom and looked back in time to see him add something to my drink.

“A hunter,” I thought. But I was one too, fingering my razor-sharp ankh medallion.

That ending makes no sense at all but I still love this movie. It doesn't have a plot, just vibes #monsterdon #TheHunger

A fall from about 5 stories up seems like not enough to take down a real vampire. But then again having all of one's lifeforce drained out for 90 minutes by this movie may have weakened her somewhat. #Monsterdon #TheHunger
