It's an Amanda Gorman kind of day in my heart.

As they should be...they are definitely a hate group......the mom who didn't even know who wrote #TheHillWeClimb and got it banned at an elementary in Miami, #DailySalinas is part of that group.
Moms for Liberty, the far-right parental group known for protesting at school board meetings, has been identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a "hate group" for the first time ever.

2) In a world where #AmandaGorman’s #TheHillWeClimb is banned, it’s no surprise that the #Bible gets targeted too.

This is the complaint that got Amanda Gorman's poem, recited at Biden's inauguration, banned in a south Florida school.
The complainant thinks the poem is written by Oprah Winfrey. The complainant also thinks they don't need to consult professional review of the work. They claim that the work confuses, indoctrinates and sends hate messages to students.
Worst part? The school district actually acted on this. One complaint gets a book banned, but numerous schoolhouse gun slaughters can't get guns banned. 'Merica.

Amanda Gorman ‘gutted’ after Florida school bans Biden inauguration poem
"Gorman hit back in a lengthy social media post:
“So they ban my book from young readers, confuse me with Oprah, fail to specify what parts of my poetry they object to, refuse to read any reviews, and offer no alternatives … Unnecessary book bans like these are on the rise, and we must fight back,” #AmandaGorman said.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/24/amanda-gorman-poem-ban-florida-school #bookbans #TheHillWeClimb #PENamerica

In Florida with DeSantis we see the picture of what the USA can become if republicans win the next elections. Banning a poem (!) about freedom and opportunity from a local school library. Hear it here: https://youtu.be/LZ055ilIiN4

Let us remember this beautiful moment from Amanda Gorman reading original work "The Hill We Climb" at Biden's inauguration.
Not only is Gorman the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate (2017), but the youngest in inaugural poet in American History.

We will not march back to what was,
But move to what shall be:
A country that is bruised but whole,
Benevolent but bold,
Fierce and free.
We will not be turned around,
Or interrupted by intimidation,
Because we know our inaction and inertia
Will be the inheritance of the next generation.
Our blunders become their burdens
But one thing is certain:
If we merge mercy with might, and might with right,
Then love becomes our legacy,
And change, our children's birthright. -
