Well damn you all, I gone and done it and it's all your fault, so there <sticks tounge out>
Signed up today for my first ever running event and first ever marathon. So I better hope to it and start training and get time on feet and try to run something longer than a half marathon a few times over the next 10 months.
Only target I will have is to finish in the time they set. I'm not going to have a PB to beat or age group to win etc. I'm there for fun and a wee dram.

Note to one self: when going plodding take a nice sturdy bag with you.
That bag next to Paddy a quarter full of what is our garbage, the rest is what we picked up outside HQ and the 500m to the nearest bin. I could easily have filled two more with what was on the side of the road and the layby we parked in.
Yes, by all means come and enjoy this stunning corner of Scotland for a bit of camping or a picnic.
But, for <bleep> sake, people, take your litter home with you!
Or as I did walk up to the nearest bin, not that hard, well it is when you over fill a thin and flimsy plastic bag with your junk.

2024 was a bumpy ride. In no particular order; lost a friend to cancer, sudden loss of my mum, rescued a dog in Spain, said goodbye to our soul dog of 11 years, rescued a dog in Ireland, saw the fascist win way to many elections and seats around the world, wars that goes killing innocent people, rich people getting filthy rich and that the most of public, politicians and the MSM really don't give a shite about the destruction of the rock call home.
In other news I've started to run mid January and joined The Green Runners. I clocked up 716 miles in a year, mental to think the most "running" I've done before was to get to the ice cream vans first.
Next year I hope I can get to do some longer runs with the mutts as they should be old enough. Sadly I can't help with cancer or stopping the wars. But I hope that I can convince more people to not leave a trace while out in the outdoor, and re-use/cycle/pair more along with buying less from the other side of the planet.

Another run'n'sniff with the Irish mutt and with added fun, the lass joined with the Spanish mutt. They were a bit scared of a horse, but did well when seeing 3 other dogs and a few other runners. Ended up looking at this for a while, rude not to. Should have plodded on for another 500m as I would I the clocked up 700 miles of running. Because it's crimbo I rounding up, so there!

I've had 3 pairs of Saguaro shoes, love them - light, flexible and comfy. I often forget I got them on.
The first two pairs lasted about 1.5-2 years, of daily use, 5+ km dog walking, shopping, hiking etc in all weathers, before they wore out. One pair is still in use as wild swimming shoes.
Sadly the newest pair started to show wear within a month of use. Fabric coming apart from the sole and even ripping and the stitching is coming out.
Which is a bit annoying since the newest pair was more expensive.

Short run at early sunset, bailed from doing a longer run, because bunnies! It would be impossible to run let alone walk, with the hills coming alive with things the mutt would want to chase, to the left, did you see that, over the wall, what was that, in the bush, jump, bunnies, bark, a sudden turn at high speed, double back between my legs, BUNNIES EVERYWHERE!

Wow, who would have thought that I would end up doing 101 runs in a year. Yesterday's run was about 14km up/down Boulsworth Hill. Was warned that it would be buggy and it was, but jolly good fun.

Today she did her stiles in style. Wooden ones she needed a lift up and then jumped down right away. The stones stiles, she did without much help, as soon as she found out it was just "steps" she was through them like a flash, therefore no picture.

On this #GlobalRunningDay I went out and did a triathlon, clearly my head needs a reboot. 750m in a saltwater pool, nice. 15km bike ride to get baked goods. 6km Run'n'Sniff with the mutt.
I'm sure the pain will come tomorrow...

I finally got the runners high, started at 1640m and finished at 1890m, 9.71km, 715m up according to Garmin. Couldn't go further as I hit the snow ;)
