A few years ago I discovered professor Robert Greenberg's classes on what was then called The Great Courses (also available via Audible, Google Play etc).
Today I started listening to another one ("how to listen and understand opera") and immediately I'm reminded of how incredible he is.
The sheer passion that comes through would make these interesting even if he was talking about banging rocks. -

A new-to-me one I've found is called #TheTorch. It's from #TheGreatCourses people, and does brief dives into various topics educational, academic or just interesting.
I also have #99percentInvisible in there which I occasionally tune into.
Interested in other such suggestions if you have some!

I just finished watching The Great Courses' lecture series "Ancient Mesopotamia: Life in the Cradle of Civilization" by Prof. Amanda Podany. It was really excellent, surveying Mesopotamian history from the first cities of the fertile crescent to the conquering of the Neo-Babylonian Empire by Persia in the sixth century BCE. I'd strongly recommend it, and it's definitely worth a short subscription to The Great Courses Plus just for it. Lots of detail on ancient life, religion, technological changes, trade, and other good stuff.
The video format is nice for maps and pictures of artifacts, archaeological sites, and reconstructions, but does include some slightly distracting and unnecessary animations in the background while Prof. Podany is speaking, and I think the audio-only format would also be great if that sort of thing bothers you.

I have been diligently using Duolingo to refresh/relearn/learn German. I wasn't able to read anything real.
So I start using The Great Courses "Learn German" video in addition to Duolingo.
Yesterday, I could actually get the gist of a post in German! Granted, not complete understanding yet, as there are still words I don't know, but it's noticeable progress.

I can't stop reading #TheExpanse. I'm on my third run through and still finding passages I'd overlooked on the other two readings.
Also coupling it with learning more about science, thanks to #TheGreatCourses.
It is hard to tear my eyes away from the page, but I got work to do!
