I am about to watch the final episode of The Dragon Prince. I watched the penultimate one during my lunch break today and it almost tore me to pieces. I'm not sure how I'll get through this one, or how I'll be able to sleep after. 🥲

[P] They just can't seem to grasp that you can't build a growing foundation upon rot, they're so blinkered by this worship of rot that they can't grasp that the end-point of rot is nothingness. Why did Game of Thrones stink? The same reason! And if you think GRRM's prose in the books will somehow fare better? You're delusional. Tragedy is narrative rot, and you cannot build a foundation upon rot. Sorry, but that's the nature of rot.

[P] I've been alive on this planet for so many decades. I can say that, no, they never learn. If a yarn is weaved that hiverarchy takes an interest in? They demand rot, only to learn that rot leads to nothingness and that's disappointing. They did the same thing with Steven Universe and got SU Future out of it, only to be disappointed that the ending amounted to nothing after all the goodness of the prior show had been burned away.

[P] Hiverarchy is so blinkered. I knew what would happen. The leadership of Wonderstorm wasn't condjdent in their vision, I noticed how they'd flip-flop on things based on hiverarchy reactions. And when they received a negative backlash from short-sighted hiverarchy drones after season 4's schmaltzy vibes? It had Wonderstorm turn to tragedy. "Yes, this is what we want!" the hiverarchy drones drool, but is it actually ever?

[P] And I'm here thinking "What did you expect?" while knowing the answer: they don't. If hiverarchy had a concept for the long-term, the future? They wouldn't fetishise parasitism and entropy for a second—they'd all be like me. And I realise, it isn't merely empathy that founds my avoidance of parasitism, tragedy, and avatars of rot—it's more to do with being able to perceive the long-term effecta. That makes one not hiverarchy.

[P] Have you ever noticed how hiverarchy bas a hardcore fetish for decay, rot, and entropy? I mean, tragedy is a theme of entropy and they devour it. Just as they fall in love with avatars of entropy (Musk, Bezos, Trump, et al). Sexually they invest themselves in sociopathy & parasitic vampirism, as though these were the most important traits. And then, at the end, when it all finally rots away to nothing? They're always disappointed.

[P] It's funny... I could tell something had changed with The Dragon Prince in season 5. It felt like before that there was a push-and-pull with what it wanted to be. It's strange to realise just how many adore tragedy, because it's just entropy, there's no growth. I enjoyed season 4, it represented a height for what the show could've been. Here's the part that gets me, though... It's the part that hiverarchy never seems to learn.

Puta mierda de serie, cómo puede ser tan buena a ratos y al mismo tiempo estirar chicle tantísimo, hasta en la temporada final tienen que estirar la historia con más planes y más búsquedas de objetos y vueltas y más vueltas.
Los momentos que importan funcionan, son geniales, no he terminado la temporada con los ojos secos! Pero es muy frustrante ver una historia de 4 temporadas estirada para ocupar 7.

The Dragon Prince has such a beautiful ending with an incredibly powerful message for kids just before the credits of the last episode.
This show plus Avatar: The Last Airbender might just be the best kids television ever created.

One sad thing about a show ending is that even people move on from the fandom. Some fandoms are more resilient than others but my current fandom - The Dragon Prince - is quite small to begin with. And I'll be honest, the second arc isn't that great, either, so I understand why people jumped ship after season 3 (the hiatus didn't help).
But I don't want to let go of Viren, Claudia and Finnegrin. I'm not *ready* to let them go. I know I'll always have Danny Phantom to come back to but my heart is still with that trio and the ships that I like involving them.
I don't know if you guys are in a dying fandom yourself. Do you still create stuff? Or look for stuff? Do you still read fics? Are there even fics you haven't read?

Sure, he's not a very good person (he's a pirate captain who's done terrible things). However:
1. He's sexy
2. Very charismatic
3. Well mannered
4. Loves and takes care of hermit crabs
5. Manages a whole sea port

My hobbies:
- I do a lot of programming in languages such as #c++ , #rustlang , #kotlin and #pythonlang
- I know a decent amount about HPC programming (I've used #cuda , #opencl , #hiplang and #vulkan compute)
- I own an FPGA that I want to do something useful with
- I really love old computers, esp ones to do with the history of #HPC, such as #SGI machines - sadly I do not own any of these computers as of writing this :(

Mr 7's been watching #TheDragonPrince on #Netflix and while it's super derivative, the art is terrific. I keep thinking it'd be awesome to see #REFeist's #Magician novels adapted to this style.
I mean, I've pretty much given up hope of ever seeing his books adapted as a live-action series like GoT, Wheel of Time, etc. Which is annoying as hell. #fantasy #raymondefeist
