Fun moments with #DAngelo’s #Voodoo:
•The catalyst for trumpet legend Roy Hardgrove’s career. His tone on this album remains one of the most chased sounds in music.
•Pino Palladino recorded Voodoo while SIMULTANEOUSLY recording #NIN #TheDownwardSpiral AT THE SAME TIME IN THE SAME STUDIO. INSANE RANGE.
•Questlove talks about changing his style to fit this album, and you can hear it.
•TeenEricka spent 7 months & $50 to get this poster. As of 2024, it’s the only one left and rare, due to the date. -
Heresy by #NineInchNails
"He sewed his eyes shut because he is afraid to see
He tries to tell me what I put inside of me
He's got the answers to ease my curiosity
He dreamed a god up and called it Christianity
Your god is dead and no one cares
If there is a hell I will see you there..."- #TrentReznor, #TheDownwardSpiral, 1994

A very good political anti-hate track in the vein of #TheDownwardSpiral Era #NineInchNails. Worth a listen: https://revvnant.bandcamp.com/track/horror
(and no: I don't share Spotify links because I hate that service)

Today of course marks the 30th anniversary of nine inch nails' legendary record The Downward Spiral. This masterpiece of an album was released March 8, 1994, and was a pretty intense thing for 14 year old me to hear.
This photo is from Instagram - Trent just posted it, saying what 28 year old him had to say still excites him but breaks his heart. It's a dark album, man. All the pigs are still lined up.
Here it is, in all its glory: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL1ZJvW8jPWdzeDhA516qxjWVrfVPxRie&si=9FU_s5DF6kn6YcBV

30 years ago today (Feb 25, 1994), nine inch nails released the first single from The Downward Spiral, 'March of the Pigs'. I had this record pretty soon after it came out and I played it nonstop. World changing. Step right up.

#NineInchNails #TheFragile is the best album Trent ever did, if not, then it's tied with #TheDownwardSpiral. #RealTalk
-
the downward spiral is definitely one of my favorite albums that has such a consistent industrial tone and headspace
