Some *light* reading -- history and prophecy...
I read #FrankWaters "#TheBookOfTheHopi" many years ago, but misplaced my old copy. Refreshing myself on #HopiProphecy and what it all means for the times we are living in.
#EricCline's "#1177BC" has been a good read. I'm finding his chapter about a "perfect storm of calamities" to be relevant to the age we are living in now, especially with regard to #ClimateCrisis and #Polycrisis.
Graeber/Wengrow's "#TheDawnOfEverything" has taken me a while to get through... So much to take in. Learning about power and systems of power and their origins.
"The Occult Features of #Anarchism" by #EricaLagalisse also deals with systems of power -- and how #MutualAid is part of true autonomy (I agree).

Has anyone written about / applied #DavidGraeber & #DavidWengrow's three basic forms of social #freedom to #technology and/or #SocialMedia? I'd love to read this.
- the freedom to escape one's surroundings and move away,
- the freedom to disobey arbitrary authority, and
- the freedom to reimagine and reconstruct one's society in a different form. -

Yes the possibility is becoming apparent with Dutton having a major party sounding like the fringe nationalist One Nation party from decades ago.And the arc from John Howard to Tony Abbott to Morrison to Dutton is looking more and more like a direction that will be continued.
The article' places the roots in "failures of neoliberalism and globalism".
I doubt this is an very helpful explanation.

If #GraberAndWengrowe are onto something with their accounts of protean social structures in #TheDawnOfEverything then for the longest time a #Conservative would have been supporting the continuing of changing and modifying social structures to meet the needs of the community.

Tom Murphy's review and critique of The Dawn of Everything.

I picked up this book because I heard it has new insights into the daily lives of ancient humans, which is a thing I enjoy thinking about. The book delivers that for sure, but also, it’s a super radicalizing indictment of assumptions in social sciences and colonialism/capitalism in general, and suggests encouragingly that we have a choice about how our lives are organized. So glad I read it. #TheDawnOfEverything #DavidGraeber #DavidWengrow

If so then some #GeneticEngineering by the folk who brought you, "Masks don't work against Covid", and the #BarringtonDeclaration would be the best chance. #Elon would prob want to be involved too.Whereas if it's our culture then things get to be about human relationships, worldviews and gooier stuff and #TheDawnOfEverything by #GraeberAndWengrow shows at least the possibility of adapting.

According to #wengrow and #graeber's taxonomy of #power, #Twitter wields sovereign power (banning users and topics) and knowledge power(tech IP, algorithms, down ranking).
#ElonMusk, on the other hand wields sovereign (firing staff, unplugging servers) and charismatic power (although this seems to be waning quickly).
I wonder if this disjoint is part of the reason why Musk and Twitter aren't working well together?
