Jimmy Somerville left Bronski Beat after the massive success of "The Age Of Consent" because of disagreements how to go on, and his wish to be more an activist. Together with classic pianist Richard Coles he founded "The Communards".The Communards: Communards

It was originally released in 1975 by #HaroldMelvinAndTheBlueNotes featuring #TeddyPendergrass, an act signed to Gamble & Huff's #PhiladelphiaInternational label. The big brass section get their moment in the spotlight, and there's a lovely lighting effect during the "aaaaaaah" - all the neon freezes on and the lights stop flashing.
