@nat It's urban fantasy (I guess) but I love how #NKJemisin explicitly turns it on its head in #TheCityWeBecame: White is evil and scary. So good.

Long-ish day today. Started with #breakfast at the usual place, then walked around the park and talked to my mom for #MothersDay. Bought a $1 cookie from some kids doing a bake sale. Then came home and put new topsoil on this little spot. Rest of the day was spent reading #TheCityWeBecame and playing #TearsOfTheKindgom .
Also added this #CowboyBebop #Swordfish sticker to my bike!

Great #bookclub at #LostCityBooks tonight! Lovely conversation and looking forward to next month!
Broke my rules… Ended up walking away from the bookstore with 4 new #books. Next month’s bookclub book, #TheCityWeBecame by N.K. Jemison; Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by H. Murakami (SUPER excited about this); The Mongolian Conspiracy by R. Bernal (t: K. Silver); and a beautiful hardback leatherette of Alexander Pushkin’s The Captain’s Daughter and Other Stories.
