Endlich am Aussichtsbalkon des Phare de l’île Vierge angekommen bietet sich ein unglaublicher Ausblick in die nähere Umgebung der Abers im nordwestlichen Finistere der Bretagne. Wenn man sich die Küstenlinie ansieht erkennt man, weshalb Seefahrer:innen ordentlichen Respekt vor dem Finistere haben!

Wie man das in Frankreich so macht, haben wir das Boot für die Überfahrt am nächsten Tag gebucht und damit waren wir auf dem Weg zum Phare de l’île Vierge. Zwischen 1897 und 1902 mit einer Höhe von 82,5 Metern erbaut, ist der Phare de l’Île Vierge der höchste Leuchtturm Europas.

Ein Blick auf den Phare de l’île Vierge den wir an diesem Tag leider nicht besichtigen konnten, weil wir den Gezeiten gemäß zu spät gewesen sind. Bei Flut kann man mit einem kleinen Boot auf die Île Vierge gebracht werden und damit in weiterer Folge auch auf den Leuchtturm gelangen. Das haben wir uns später dann nicht entgehen lassen.
