O víkendu jsem si chtěl doplnit vzdělání a tak jsme si s ženou pustili dvě loňské duchařiny.
Sestra 2 (NUN 2) a Kostlivec (The Boogeyman).
Oba filmy jsou (podle mého názoru) jen tuctové duchařiny, kterých je posledních pár let spousta a ani ničím nevynikají, naopak si z lepších titulů jen berou.
Kostlivec na tom je o něco lépe a zpočátku to vypadalo velmi nadějně, ale ve výsledku docela slabota.

📼 Vista #TheBoogeyman, adaptación libre de un relato de Stephen King.
Es una película correcta, cumplidora en todos sus apartados, pero es cierto que no puedes quitarte la molesta sensación de haberla visto antes (y mejor). Y es que, en los últimos años, se han estrenado bastantes películas que tratan el mismo tema (el acecho de un ente sobrenatural como alegoría de la depresión y salud mental en un entorno familiar disfuncional), como fueron The Babadook, Madre oscura o Smile, por lo que esta nueva propuesta parece llegar demasiado tarde.
Dejando esto al margen, The Boogeyman ofrece suficientes atractivos, como las interpretaciones de sus dos actrices jóvenes, los logrados juegos de luces y sombras, y buenas escenas de suspense, y, aunque ya no sea original, su discurso sobre la batalla contra el monstruo de la depresión queda bien expuesto y nos deja un constructivo mensaje final (la depresión siempre nos va a acechar, pero tenemos el poder de dejarla entrar en nosotros o no).

Ok but these high school girls are bitches (the accuracy!), and this Lester dude…a bit too obvious on the telegraphing that he's fucked up. Then again, maybe that last Halloween sequel with the whiny emo boy getting all the screen time ruined me.

Enjoyable creature horror that plays it a little too safe and unfortunately only has the basic idea in common with King's original short story. But a nice take on: "When parents aren't paying attention, kids have to defeat their monsters themselves."
Thatcher is a star in the making anyway and gets great support from cute Vivian Lyra Blair. The monster is creepy, the showdown is fun and the few gaps in logic are easy to overlook -
