3 hours, almost on the dot.
I was actually going to take a number of buses, but decided a few hours before I was about to leave that I could bike to Oroshaza and take a train from there, then finish the journey with a second much shorter bike ride.
The 3 hours includes two short shopping stops where I did not stop the stopwatch.
I think the longest I spent on the bike without stopping was about 2 hours.

Oops, I guess I'm biking 50+ km in 3 hours today...??? :flan_shrug:

Stopped at a red light just behind a family with a young son, did a #trackstand as I now usually do. The boy looked back and his eyes just lit up and as I took off at the green I could hear him excitedly telling his mom, like he's just seen a magic trick. :neofox_uwu:
I hope he looks up how to do it and will be doing it with locked breaks in a month.

Rode some dirt roads today at an unreasonable (but safe!) speed. No pics, was too much in the zone. :neofox_uwu:

had the chance to bike at the shimla water catchment wildlife sanctuary last week #theBikeshed #cycling

Removed and installed a narrow tire on my sister's #bike, i'm amazed that it worked. The tip to use soapy water really helped.
It's a puncture resistant tire, so I really hope we won't have to repeat this procedure for at least a few years. :neofox_sweat:

Friends don't let friends clean their bike with degreaser from their kitchen. :oh_no:
In unrelated news, I'll have to bring my favorite folding bike in for a complete chain swap and likely an inspection of the entire drivetrain and hubs.

Had a #BMX break mid-work. :neofox_uwu:
Leaving the bike at the office was a great idea, now I can commute with my touring bike and get some exercise breaks with the BMX. I'm lucky that this office has locked and covered bike parking.

Finally making some progress on my #BMX again. :neofox_uwu:
Yesterday I rode fakie for a very short distance for the first time and had a ton of fun bunny hopping off of some stairs and ledges and even found a ramp formed by tree roots pushing up the sidewalk.
And got 0 injuries! ...except for a bit of shoulder pain and a flat rear tire :neofox_laugh_sweat:
Protip: some drainage ditches may have a very inviting bowl shape to them, but they also can hide nasty little rocks and thorns that have a chance to fuck up your bike. :neofox_sad:

Still sore from riding my #BMX yesterday. :neofox_uwu:

Found the most Merveilles way to commute: #foldingBike + #boat . How's that for #intermodal? :D
Apparently this is called #bikeRafting??

Got some upgrades for my #Csepel #foldingBike. :neofox_uwu:
It rides sooo much better with the new wheels and the Shimano hub shifter, and it has brakes to match its increased speed.
Only downside is that the new handlebars can't be folded, but at least they also don't collapse mid-ride like the old ones.cc: #theBikeshed

Beat my cycling PB! 80km!! My legs feel like overcooked noodles and somehow my lungs hurt.
worth it

Yay, tested the new #BMX gear! :neofox_uwu:
Had to ask a very nice mechanic at a nearby shop to do the chain replacement (half-link), he fricking cut out the middle part of a chain breaker tool so that my chain could fit into it, the absolute madman/legend. He also aligned my new handlebars which I installed incorrectly (which I noticed but forgot to fix with the bike tools at the office), plus the brake lever.
As soon as I got home I put on all my new safety gear and headed out to find some nice spots. Had to go pretty far, but I found one.
There was a driveway that I could bunny hop off of to the side and land on a slope, that was fun. Even more fun was a (small-ish) pallet that someone left unattended at a nearby container, when I saw it I just knew I had to borrow it.
I placed it on the road (which was empty, almost no one goes there this late) and did a few practice jumps next to it at speed. Then in the middle of what was supposed to be a practice run, I thought, eh, I've got, and went at it. Almost got it, but the rear wheel clipped it slightly. Took a few attempts but managed to fully clear it. The new taller handlebars are so good for hops. :flan_hearts:
And! I didn't fall a single time! :moomin_yay:

Got new brake pads and a taller handlebar for the #BMX, now the brakes are so strong that it skids, it also sounds like a demon scratching a chalkboard with its nails. Well, at least the lack of a bell is less of an issue now. :neofox_laugh_sweat:

Fucked up my lower back so much riding #BMX yesterday that reaching down to put on socks is like reaching into fire. :moomin_sad:
So, I guess I'm fused to my bed for now...?
I guess those warnings about too low handlebars causing back pain were not kidding.

"But @csepp, won't you need a driver's license to give rides to others?"
Not when I have a #foldingBike and a #bikeTrailer . :neofox_uwu: :nocars:

Took the #BMX out on the "trails", it works surprisingly well.
Also, oops, I accidentally fell on purpose, multiple times in a row. But the grass looked so welcoming and much more forgiving for practice falls than the pavement. There were also much fewer onlookers than in the city, so I rectified that by recording myself so now even more people can see me looking like an idiot. :flan_cool:
Tested the brakes on the way back. Wet grass is not great for traction, but having ridden on icy roads a lot as a kid prepared me for this. :neofox_uwu:
Not pictured: I jumped a gap between two driveways on the way back that I have been eyeing for a few weeks, got it on first try, grinned like an idiot for the rest of the ride.
Score at the end:
falls (on purpose): idk, like 50
falls (by accident): 0 :moomin_yay:ps.: but :puppycat_saying_butt: my butt is still sore, idk if it's from the falls or just from riding.

I thought I'd install a reinforced rear tire and inner tube on my folding #bike all by myself... even though the guy at the repair shop said even they have a lot of trouble installing these... now I had to take a dinner break, because the damn thing refuses to budge even another millimeter.
If I disappear, assume that my fingers somehow got stuck between the rim and the tire and I am forever trapper. I'm posting this so my tale can be told to children as a dire warning.
