Destined to be the last incarnation of the Bad Plus, if their announcement holds, with a goodbye tour going on this year.
This is recognizably Bad Plus music, while stretching in new directions. The LP itself is a little...murky sounding, unfortunately.

Tonight: the full transformation of The Bad Plus is complete. Only one song from the "old days" at the Blue Note late set, and lots of interesting new angles including a wild wall-of-noise jam led by Ben Monder. It's not free same and probably not as good, tbh, but still worth a trip to the worst room in town.

This is easily one of my top-five covers by any band of any song.
The Bad Plus covers Iron Man (by Black Sabbath). Pretty great for an acoustic jazz trio imho.
