One Wednesday evening I attended the opening night of the one-person trans play Overflow, which has returned to the Sydney Festival for its second year.

Was amazing to be among such a gender diverse crowd and to feel safe among unknown cis folks. We were even encouraged to graffiti the gender-inclusive loos! Had a chat at the mirror with the cutest drag queen who I then watched perform to the after party crowd enjoying free drinks and canapés.

Talkbacks can be hit-or-miss. They should only be used to serve the playwright. So when an audience member starts to point out all the flaws and what he/she would do instead, it defeats the purpose. But critiques and notes that come from a good place from peers are so useful and appreciated ❤️
