  1. Should I continue with these "newsletters"?

My employer fired the community team responsible for publishing on behalf of company. Apparently being "AI-native" means community-building activites are no longer needed.
Maybe I will dump my links backlog in one last issue. It was getting repetitive anyway, there are so many spicy API takes I can come up with.

  2. In the June issue I went full #HATEOAS – a pattern considered as unnecessary bloat finding new purpose in LLMs interacting with APIs: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-12/

    #TheApiDispatch #RestApi

  3. In the March issue I tried to capture the anti-MCP sentiment and hype around CLIs. Of course, pronouncing MCP dead turned out to be quite premature… bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-11/

  4. Time to catch up with #TheApiDispatch! In the January issue I particularly enjoyed rants about #GraphQL: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-10/

  5. The final issue of this year consists solely of my tips for API-related (and a few unrelated) podcasts: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-9/

Enjoy the listening and have a happy new year!

  6. I've finally republished the remaining two issues of #TheApiDispatch newsletter.

In this one I'm particularly proud of the title and not-so-subtle Roy Fielding joke combined with htmx promo: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-8/

  7. The August issue of API newsletter opens with my favorite critique of MCP. I dug up an article from acquired Akita Software about HTTP fallacies. And included a farewell to Apiary.io – though it looks like Oracle didn't pull the plug to this day… bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-6/

  8. State holiday gave me time to finally catch up with the summer issues of The API Dispatch newsletter. Here's the issue 5 with some optimistic predictions about MCP: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-5/

Don't worry, I'll balance it out tomorrow.

  9. I've finally got to publish the fourth API newsletter: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-4/

The topic is Language-Oriented Approach to API Development from @smizell, something more developers should know about.

  10. In the April issue I focused on OpenAPI spec and API design: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-3/

Despite all the hype around “AI”, I think there's still need to educate developers about maintainable API design.

  11. I touched the topic of LLMs and Model Context Protocol. I guess most of the links in the March issue didn't age well: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-2/

  12. A few months ago I started a curated newsletter about APIs for my colleagues, and since it's being published to LinkedIn, I decided to keep more accessible copy on my blog. I call it The API Dispatch: bitoff.org/the-api-dispatch-fe
