  1. It’s curry cookin’ time™

I am what can only be described as rocking out to The White Stripes as I prep. This is the 20th (!) anniversary ltd edition from 2023 and it sounds really good. And I think the curry will taste all the better for it.

  3. I have no clue how i never heard The White Stripes - Icky Thump

The song is perfect from any angle you look into. Vocal? Yes. Lyrics? Yes. Guitar sound? Yes. Guitar play? Yes. The drums, drummer, bagpipes, video, anything and everything. Even red is the red 😎

  4. THE WHITE STRIPES
    Elephant
    2022 U.S. 2xLP reissue

One more from Jack and Meg, and an INSANELY good sounding reissue.

    I’ll be honest.
YES… I’d be more than ok never hearing “Seven Nation Army” again for the rest of my life.

That was never one of my favorite songs on here. For me, that tune’s always been a guitar riff and little else. And yes, I know I’m in the minority of people who like TWS that feels that way.

All that being said, the rest of the album is stellar.
The Hardest Button To Button, Black Math, Ball And Biscuit, Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine… just so many slayers.

I’m glad Seven Nation Army is first. I usually just start it on Black Math and let it unfold from there.

  5. THE WHITE STRIPES
    White Blood Cells
    2021 U.S. 20th Anniversary reissue

I haven’t sat down and listened to a White Stripes album front to back in quite some time.
And although I like all of the White Stripes records, I think White Blood Cells will always be my favorite on whole.

Dead Leaves, Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With A Girl, We’re Going To Be Friends, I Think I Smell A Rat… just so many killer tunes that, when they first hit, came at the right time in my life.

As close to a perfect rock record as you can get.

  8. I think that we can all agree that Jack White is a good person.

In the Third Man Records store in Nashville, people who make a donation to the Food Bank get a discount.

The title of the Greatest Hits album is „my sister thanks you and I thank you“.

During the acceptance speech for the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, he thanked more than 30 bands which are not in this Hall of Fame for their inspiration.
During this speech, he also said: “To the young artists, I want to say: get your hands dirty and drop the screens and get out of your little room and get obsessed. Get obsessed with something… We all want to share in what you might create.”

About the success and adaption of ‚seven nation army‘ he said: „…Nothing is more beautiful in music than when people embrace a melody and allow it to enter the pantheon of folk music.“

  9. TIL that the Electric Six song 'Danger! High Voltage' was sang by lead singer Dick Valentine and another vocalist, credited as John S. O'Leary, which is actually Jack White of The White Stripes.

Also, today was the first time I ever saw the music video, where White's parts are mimed by actress Tina Kanarek.
