Hey, how can I get that superpower? In my case, it's just the opposite... Any worry I may have from outside work compounds with the stress from work, and vice versa.
I want to be able to only worry abou one thing at a time, like the protagonist of #TheThreeBodyProblem!

I'm finally getting around to reading The Three -Body Problem by Liu Cixin.
I've only watched a couple of clips of the TV series, so going into it cold.
Picked it and the second book, The Dark Forest, up in a second-hand store (Op Shop). $2.50 each, 2016 printing, excellent condition.

So, I read the three "Three Body Problem" books (there's probably a word for three consecutive linked works of art ... Matrix Resurrections).
The last book is definitely the best for story and storytelling (and the translator deserves an honourable mention (but I won't)).
However, I'm going to recommend that if you are not sure that it's worth reading any of them then you should read the very last part of the third book "Death's End". It's short-story-essay length. Doing that won't spoil your enjoyment of the series but it may even make you smile.

A long read about Three Body adaptations and the original work but worth it.
Anna made me realise something. One reason why the Netflix version failed (for me and those who enjoyed the original work) was that they didn't take the opportunity to use the same framework and create a commentary on US/European society.
I would've really loved to watch that!!
Instead, we got a clumsy photostat of the original, which fed into the current geopolitical commentary about China....which loses the point of the original story to begin with.

Have recently finished (and really enjoyed) #TheThreeBodyProblem by #Cixin. Can highly recommend if you like your #SciFi. Has some good science but (perhaps unusual for SciFi) some great reflection on personal journeys.
Really interested to see where #TheDarkForest goes.

Fakat bir şekilde Yun Tianming'in "He'ershingenmosiken Sabunlu Tekne" metaforundan haberi var!
Kitabın yazarının bu konularda oldukça bilgili olduğu yazıyordu.

Also nach bisher fünf Folgen gefällt mir die Umsetzung von #TheThreeBodyProblem extrem gut... Ich mochte aber auch schon die Bücher ob ihrer wilden Ideen und der konsequenten Umsetzung sehr.

I just finished Cixin Liu's The Three-Body Problem (the first book). I'm generally not a huge SF fan but really enjoyed it.
I also loved this sentence in Ken Liu's "Translator's Postscript", it's such a beautiful way to describe literary translation. -

Was aber fast noch besser ist, in der #ARDAudiothek gibt es alle drei Bücher #DieDreiSonnen #DerDunkleWald und #JenseitsDerZeit von #LiuCixin als #Scifi #Podcast, auch #Hörspielserie genannt.
Hier könnt ihr euch auch ohne Vorkenntnisse in das Buch verlieben. -
Vor Jahren habe ich das Buch #三体 im Original auf einem Tisch liegen sehen und gefragt, ob es gut ist.
Die Antwort war, ohne Nachzudenken, ja.
Also habe ich mir #DiedreiSonnen von #LiuCixin auf den #EBookReader geladen und war begeistert.
Später habe ich von dem in China produzierten Film und der Tencent-Serie gehört, beides aber nicht gesehen.
Nun ist es soweit. Auf Netflix gibt es die Serie zum ersten Buch unter dem Namen #TheThreeBodyProblem.Echt sehenswert!

The #Netflix adaptation of #TheThreeBodyProblem (#三体) (2024) is simply a summary of #Tencent's adaptation released in 2023, set in the UK + with a disturbing E05.
Oh, less appealing special effects too, and less impactful scenes and dialogues.

I've been thinking of reading The Three-Body Problem for ages and now Netflix has forced my hand 😂.
I'm probably old-fashioned in this, but if it's a book I want to read, then watching a TV or film adaption before reading the book feels like it forces someone else's imagination on me, which to me makes the reading experience feel much poorer and more limited.
But I do want to watch the Netflix series, so I better start reading 😁. BTW does anyone know if the series just covers book 1, or all of them?

Overcame procrastination and finally started reading #TheThreeBodyProblem .., slowly and carefully.
Not going to even look at the TV Series trailer until I'm done - most probably with the whole trilogy.
Books that are already published can't be cancelled. -
Bingewatched #TheThreeBodyProblem on #Netflix. Really enjoyed the visualisations.
I had read the book The Three Body Problem by CIXIN LIU, but had struggled to visualise it. Now I am reading it again and it is making more sense.
