I still haven’t had a chance to actually get this to the table but I picked it up a while back and think it’s great for that more surreal, time-and-reality warping side of the Mythos, so I recommend grabbing the PDFs for anyone curious.

I was thinking about #Nightshade and #Glaze and how they poison the output of an #LLM, and it struck me that this the #AI equivalent of #TheKingInYellow. There is now forbidden knowledge for robots, images and passages that make them lose their grip on reality*, and that's so cool

The first four stories are masterpieces of macabre horror fiction. The one after that is almost unsettling by how it isn't as creepy as the first ones. And the last stories are pretty traditional and boring, as are the stories Chambers would write the rest of his career.
Almost as if he was driven mad by reading the play The Yellow Sign himself and as a reaction retreated into writing boring contemporary romances! Or maybe he was replaced by some supernatural entity trying to hide the fact of the original Chambers' disappearance!

After I'm done reading #TheKinginYellow I'll have read all games I've felt like reading in the past two years. I mean I have reading material, some dense stuff some on the lighter slide, but I don't feel like reading, say Lancer, right now
Maybe I'll sort my backlog by page count and start with the shortest stuff. That's worked on the past

Tonight we finished off Dancer in the Bone Cabaret, another great scenario for The Yellow King RPG.
Unfortunately, only Dorian made it out alive, laying three black roses at the site of past horrors. One each for his three fallen comrades.
Just one more game to go in 2022...
