  1. The latest edition of the #PBSNews show Horizons has an excellent piece on a science study published in Nature last month that found that over half of migratory birds globally are now in decline. Most of the show is a thoughtful interview with the lead author of that research, Peter Marra.

    The interview is quite sobering, although I appreciate Peter's hopeful response that birds have rebounded from stupid things we've done before (over-hunting of egrets and herons for feathers for hats, and widespread use of DDT insecticides on farms).

    Watch to the end for information on another recent science study showing that bird watching is good for our brains. 😀

    Je vois la même logique dans un autre taf : les petits remplacements, faciles, sont confiés depuis qlq années, à des recrutés par les Assedic, donc non titulaires, pour un temps court et payés au lance-pierre, et donc les remplaçants titulaires et expérimentés, ne font plus que les remplacements difficiles et longs : harassant !
