August 21, 1952 His songwriting tackled social inequality, anti-racism, anti-imperialism and working-class struggles and helped shape the political backbone of the late 1970's counterculture. He passed away suddenly in December 2002 at 50. In 2003, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Clash.

The #band called me up to the mic and, with a little help from London (vocals, guitar), I was supposed to sing a surprise song together with the band. Well, after the first shock I just did it, even though I wondered what song it would be 🫣😂
