Currently rewatching #TheBigShort movie. About the 2008 financial crisis (w/ Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and an amazing Steve Carell). Very much worth watching. Especially since the AI bubble is 10x bigger and will crash in a nastier fashion.

There was this campaign carried out in 1994 on the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO). The author alerted of its rusting, corrosive, and acidic properties. He urged people to support the bill for outlawing it.

Does anyone remember #TheBigShort? It’s frankly astounding that anyone who paid attention during the 2008 #financialcrisis would be even remotely surprised that the #markets are behaving in a similar fashion. Fortunes were made on the backs of ordinary people & their homes back then. This time the parasites have centered themselves on the false belief that #ai is the ultimate way to increase #profit by eliminating the cost of #labor. As ‘irrational exuberance’ (aka funneling money to AI based on hopium) grows, the #bubble is that much closer to bursting. Während meiner Bank-Finanzausbildung (zum Finanzassistent mit nachfolgender Studienberechtigung als sog. „Spitzenazubi“) fühlte ich mich bei der Hospitation in der Investmentabteilung sehr unwohl: Viele hochnäsige Boni-Abzocker, die letztlich doch nur mit dem Zinsvorteil durch die staatliche Gewährträgerhaftung zockten.
Ging ja dann auch schief, Millionenverluste, die Abteilung wurde abgewickelt.
Habe gestern auch mit K3 „The Big Short“ angeschaut & besprochen.
Ich möchte so gerne, dass Menschen die Psychologie von Finanzblasen erkennen. Und also auch nicht länger auf Verschwörungsunternehmer wie Elon Musk oder früher „Hoss & Hopf“ hereinfallen.

W swoim najnowszym wpisie Michael Burry ocenił, że obecna wycena giełdowa Tesli jest oderwana od rzeczywistości, a akcjonariusze muszą liczyć się z rozwodnieniem swoich udziałów.
Burry, który niedawno przeniósł swoją aktywność publicystyczną na platformę Substack po wyrejestrowaniu funduszu hedgingowego, nie przebiera w słowach. Jego zdaniem kapitalizacja rynkowa producenta aut elektrycznych jest „śmiesznie przewartościowana” i stan ten utrzymuje się od dłuższego czasu. Inwestor zwraca również uwagę na gigantyczny, warty bilion dolarów pakiet wynagrodzeń dla Elona Muska, który jego zdaniem będzie miał negatywny wpływ na wartość akcji posiadanych przez drobnych inwestorów.

Mimo pesymistycznych prognoz autora „The Big Short”, Tesla w 2025 roku radzi sobie na parkiecie całkiem dobrze – od początku roku akcje spółki zyskały 11 procent. Wskaźnik ceny do zysku (P/E) wynosi jednak ponad 250, co jest wartością wielokrotnie wyższą niż w przypadku tradycyjnych koncernów motoryzacyjnych. Choć Tesla nadal dominuje na rynku aut elektrycznych w USA, jej udział spadł do około 41 proc. (dane z sierpnia), co potwierdza tezę o rosnącej presji ze strony konkurencji.
