Nice skeptic article as any true science should be. Anything that links the 2011 Russo paper "Taming THC: potential cannabis synergy and phytocannabinoid-terpenoid entourage effects" is to be celebrated. Here is the link again in case somebody missed it.

Russo's paper has been cited 1,161 times and it deals with exogenous cannabinoids and terpenes synergy, not just endogenous o made inside our body, as did the original 1998 Mechoulam research.

Indeed, due to obsolete prohibitionism and sad profit-comes-first mentality, the current cannabis and hemp markets are a wild west of fake adultered product and unproven claims.

Yet since 2011 hundreds of studies have confirmed the entourage effect. Here is a small and incomplete collection of full spectrum extract papers 2004-2023.

OPs article calls for more standarized extract testing, even though Big Pharmas really prefers patentable, cheap to make, single molecule, symptom masking drugs. Good luck with that.

I agree with the article bottomline: governments should step up to the research task instead of trusting this critical matter to profit-driven corporations. Mixed isolate cannabis pharmaceuticals have been in the market for over a decade and proven their capabilities and limitations.

That is the case of Sativex, a 700 US$ 1:1 (thc:cbd) oral spray that controls some symptoms of MS yet fails to work for other conditions. Latest anticancer protocol calls for VERY GRADUAL dosage increase until reaching 5X the patient's weight in daily MG of COMBINED cannabinoids (not just THC). A 60 Kg patient should aim to consume and maintain 300 MG of daily cannabinoids. It should be in 3 daily doses of 100 MG in each meal to generate sufficient metabolic pressure. Start with 10-20 MG each night and gradually increase the dose/add the other doses over a couple of weeks to acclimate the body.

Prefer FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil) whose solvent has been slowly evaporated below 55°C or ROSIN oil (then partly decarbed in double boiler for 25 minutes at 90°C). Both contain up to 60% cannabinoids as well as some of the flower's original terpenes, which are lost in other forms of extraction. Not only are they more effective as anticancer agents, but their psychotropic effect is less severe.

I recommend a 1:1 balanced flower or a blend of two strains, one CBDA/CBD rich and other THCA/THC rich. If heated excessively or for too long, as per the original RSO recipe from 20 years, the acidic forms of THCA and CBDA are lost. Latest research has proven their anticancer, antiemetic, anxiolytic, antiinflammatory, and even neuroprotective effect through pathways different from THC/CBN.

RSO Rick Simpson Oil recipes overcook and leave nothing but THC and CBN (oxidized THC), requiring incapacitating megadoses of 2,000 MG/day. CBD-deficient "recreational" cannabis will lack modulation. Non #Stoner patients risk anxiety attacks/paranoia. Start low, increase slowly and use the right stuff.

Vaping doesn't generate enough metabolic pressure for anticancer effect. It will reduce nausea and pain quickly, but it's palliative. Smoking destroys half the medicine and generates nasty toxins.

@RuticaCL_74 Hola. El CBD aislado, extraído de cáñamo o hemp agroindustrial de latifundios es de muy limitado efecto analgésico.

La medicina poderosa está en la flor y por eso no quieren que tengamos acceso a ella, sobre todo a variedades equilibradas o 1:1 con cantidades parecidas de CBD y THC. Ese tipo de flor o extractos NADIE los ofrece ni legal ni en la calle, para alivio de la gran industria farmacéutica. Si se quiere sanar con cannabis, por el momento no hay de otra que aprender un poquito y poner una matita en un rincón soleado del patio.

Las flores equilibradas 1:1 funcionan mejor xq el CBD modula y extiende la duracion pero impide la volazón del THC. Este último (o su forma oxidada llamada cannabinol CBN) tiene que incluirse para dolor crónico pues es el más analgésico de todos los cannabinoides.

Hay 130 cannabinoides y más de 200 terpenos diferentes descubiertos hasta la fecha en la FLOR del cannabis. He dedicado los ultimos 8 años a perfeccionar su uso ( JAMÁS FUMADA). De hecho en Mayo expongo dos obras de arte sobre cannabis y testimonios de pacientes en Salones Nacionales del Museo de Arte Costarricense ( Sabana).

Mi mamá de 82 años, con caídas y prótesis ama el CBN + CBD de flor en crema y gotas. Justo hace poco subi un articulo al blog sobre como hacerlo uno mismo. No puedo vender ni siquiera regalar nada pues la pena por hacerlo es entre 8 y 12 años de cárcel. Aun asi me la juego educando pues los cannabinoides caseros me salvaron la vida.

@Likewise Great advice ! I am down that road too: low carb chocoholic (now moving on to cocoa nibs) with 6 hours of feed window 5 days a week.

I am 58 years old and insulin resistant. The above nutritional changes plus 40 min of strenght/cardio training every other day, have given me a new lease on life.

My own two bits: walnuts, pecanas, macadamias and avocado provide a lot of healty fats and Omega3/6 balance. When taken at the end of the feeding window, they make the 18 hr fast a piece of... err meatpie 🙄 !

I also make my own cannabinoid extracts. Non psychotropic ones such as cannabinol CBN (main CB2 receptor agonist) and CBD from flower (no hemp) help regulate blood sugar, stabilize mood and protect my liver, spleen colon and pancreas.

Seen up close, my art photo art mural Stone me (2020) breaks up into thousands of screenshots, posts and memes. Its apparent chaos calls into question the self-education and personal struggle to heal my self with cannabinoids, instead of subjecting my body to the big pharmaceutical industry.

However, from afar, the images merge to reveal the enigmatic face of a mythological monster. She who was the most beautiful of the gorgons now bears the curse of a goddess: whoever sees your Medusa-like face will turn to stone.
