Drifting between snow and rain, humid air in dense curtains, a foghorn without a vessel in sight, trucks on the supply road and other nighty port songs. No stars above a waveless sea. 10pm and on. Sunday and the mood it leaves behind. Something one's been used to for years at least, but even this way, ending the year, things get a bit calmer. These few moments spent watching the neighbourhood and its houses drift into sleep. These few moments noticing these TV screens across to still air some late movie and a delivery cyclist handing over food at some half-lit staircase. These few moments to let mind settle and step back from its fast paced race, quietly preparing for the dreams to be had, the day ahead. Sleep tight everyone wherever you are.
