The first concert I ever went to: Debbie Gibson
I was pretty young, and went with my mom (I was such a big fan!). Throughout the concert, Debbie was drinking water from red plastic Solo cups. After the concert ended and people were leaving, my mom made her way to the stage where staff were cleaning up and asked for one of the used cups. She got one and gave it to me, and I kept it for YEARS.

Today's #JukeBoxFridayNight theme is #ThatFirstTime. My pal @mdmrn went with a K-pop song that had an impact on him, so I think I'll do the same!
I was a HUGE S.E.S. fan. Do y'all know them? They were early 2000s-era K-pop and had a couple of amazing albums. Great from beginning to end.

I can still remember the first time I got to hear tracks from David Bowie's then upcoming album, Low. Radio 1 played 5 tracks in succession (inc 2 tracks from side 2) . Later John Peel played the entire album. *On each occasion the opening track really set the tone of what was to come.*

De La Soul Is Dead was the first album I bought on CD (or at least one of the first three - it's been a little while ago and my memory isn't what it used to be).
Luckily I got 3 Feet High And Rising on vinyl, as that's still going strong, whereas the CD went kaput many moons ago.

I've gone with Burn by The Cure. It's the opening track from The Crow, part of one of the best film albums ever made; and it really stuck with me as the first film I'd seen that spoke to my musical tastes and taste in films when I was in my early teens and sparked an interest in the mediums of film soundtracks.

This was the song that broke extreme metal open for me. I didn’t mind some harsh vocals at the time but death metal hadn’t quite landed for me. I was listening to a lot of Maiden and was all about some flashy but melodic guitars.
The opening riff on this blew me away, and my musical tastes were never the same for it.

Hearing that song on #TinyToons was...a musical awakening for me. It started me on the path of actually venturing out and discovering music that I liked, not merely what my parents listened to.

So, today's #JukeBoxFridayNight theme is #ThatFirstTime. The idea, from what I'm seeing, is a song / tune that had a huge impact or really stuck with you when you first heard it.

This was one of the first #KPop songs that really stuck with me & got me interested in hearing more. I don't know what it was about it, but it hit me. Before that, honestly, never really listened to any.

Yesterday I took some friends up Hell's Backbone Bridge.
This is not Hell's Backbone Bridge. We didn't make it.
Luckily, we carry a sat messenger. Unluckily, the only tow truck in town is out of commission.
Luckily again, our buddy helped pull out or 3/4 ton with his lexus.
We had to build a guardrail with logs to prevent going over.

That first time I was at a concert , I was a young child and was taken by my parents. The bit that stuck most in my mind wasn't even the music it was during the concert they set off big glitter bombs over the audience, shiny shiny sparkly sparkle bright glittering glitter ohh I liked that. 🤩

My Grandma's birthday meal, delayed by my insistence that I had to watch this on the TV before we left the house.
It quite literally changed my life. The first time I "saw" #TheMission play live. I was hooked, as soon as I turned 18 a few months later I was off with my kitbag following this lot on tour. For 3 mad years of my life!

One more for #JukeBoxFridayNight in the #ThatFirstTime theme.
That first time I ever downloaded a mp3 was 1994 and it was Biz Markie "Just A Friend". My dad was kind of a tech geek back then and was like, you can download all this music now in a smaller file format. "Just A Friend" was the first file that came across the newsgroup I was looking at.
Fun fact: I met Biz Markie in 2002 when he came in to the Blockbuster Video I worked at in Laurel, Maryland.
