For my #teacher friends here. You'll never be forgotten - if you've made a significant & positive difference in your students' lives. Some of us will remember your guidance, for the rest of our lives.
I am now 49 years old, going on 50 in February. I still remember all of my fave elementary school teachers. I didn't have any positive, influential teachers in jr high or in high school or college years. I have a lot of fond memories of the elementary school teachers who treated me well, with respect & kindness & those who helped me to grow as a student & human individual.
Mr. Gretsinger. Ms. Kavanaugh. Ms. Karin Clark.
All from inner city school, George Jay elementary. I will always love these wonderful educational leaders. They were the only ones who went over & beyond to try to include me in all activities & who never looked down on me, because I was the only visibly disabled kid in that school for awhile. They helped me to feel not ostracized & like I mattered. They made a huge difference to my personal growth, from a young age.
Quality teachers who care about their students matter a lot. They should be paid more than cops.
