  1. Very dusty yet beautiful: Valinor Hills, where Ingenuity has fallen, captured by Perseverance's Mastcam Zoom camera, from her vantage viewpoint on the slopes of the crater rim.

  3. More images from the SuperCam mosaic have arrived.
The suspected detached blade can now be clearly identified. It's a bit left of the center of this image behind the sand ripple Ingenuity is sitting on.

  4. Earlier today, the Perseverance rover captured a high resolution image of the Ingenuity using the SuperCam RMI instrument.
One rotor blade is broken off completely, the others have damaged tips.

  7. @astropartigirl Wanna hear something incredibly cool? A small swatch of material from the left wing of the Wright Brothers plane, the first plane to ever fly on Earth, is attached to #Ingenuity on #Mars.

So, a piece of the first plane to ever fly on Earth was also part of the first ever flight on Mars. What a beautiful thing.

📷 An image that the helicopter took of the ground after the flight ended shows the shadow of one of the blades, with at least one-quarter of it missing.

    NASA’s Ingenuity Helicopter Mission Ends

Originally designed to perform up to 5 experimental test flights over 30 days, the 1st aircraft on another world operated from the Martian surface for almost 3 years, performed 72 flights, and flew more than 14 times farther than planned.

  12. Rest easy, #Ingenuity ... After almost three years of aerial reconnaissance, the first flying vehicle to take off from #Mars has made its last landing. More extraterrestrial aircraft are in the works. cosmiclog.com/2024/01/25/ingen #NASA #MarsHelicopter #ThanksIngenuity #Space

  14. It's sad to see the shadow of Ingenuity's rotor blade like this. According to Teddy Tzanetos, the outer 25% of the lower rotor are missing, presumably due to an impact with the ground during landing of Flight 72.

  15. Well shucks. After three years of flying around Mars, the Ingenuity helicopter mission has come to an end. - You've inspired me to dare mighty things. jpl.nasa.gov/news/after-three-
